Everything Quiet Hours records stays on your own device. It never sends data anywhere.
The extension has no network permissions — it is not technically capable of making a network request.
No accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no third-party trackers.
You can delete any or all of your history at any time from the Clear Data page, and uninstalling removes everything.

What this extension does

Quiet Hours measures how long you spend on each website — active time, idle time, and time away from the browser entirely — so you can review your own usage in a dashboard. That is its single purpose. It does not read the content of the pages you visit; it only observes which tab is open, its hostname/title, and for how long.

chrome.storage.sync is Chrome's own built-in feature for syncing an extension's settings across a signed-in user's devices — the same mechanism Chrome uses for bookmarks or browser settings. We never see this data; it only ever moves between your own devices, through your own Google account.

Permissions, explained

tabs — to detect which tab is open, active, and its URL/title, so time can be attributed to the right site. The extension does not read page content, form data, or anything inside a page.
storage — to save settings and tracking state locally, as described above.
alarms — to periodically save tracked time and clean up history older than 90 days, on a fixed schedule.
idle — to detect when you've stepped away from the keyboard, so that time is categorized as idle/away rather than active.

The extension requests no host permissions — it cannot access the content of any website, and has no ability to make network requests of any kind.

The Pro license

Activating a Pro license is verified entirely on your device using public-key cryptography — the extension checks the key you paste in against a signature, locally. No server is contacted to activate, verify, or check a license. The email address embedded in a license key is used only to display "Activated for …" in the extension itself.

Deleting your data

The Clear Data page (inside the Dashboard) lets you delete history for a time range, specific sites, or everything, at any time. Uninstalling the extension deletes all of its stored data from your device.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change with it. Material changes will also be reflected in the extension's Chrome Web Store listing.
